Hire date: March 27, 2006
Job title: Executive Assistant
Location: San Diego, California
Meet Maribel Mendiola, who is a highly-valued Executive Assistant at our San Diego office.
“My favorite aspect of my job is probably that I’m able to work independently and that every day is different. I have the opportunity to meet a variety of talented people. And, in a supportive role, I feel that I am making a difference and contributing to the success of the organization.”
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University in her home state of Ohio, she followed her older brother to the West Coast. Prior to joining Cymer/ASML in San Diego, Maribel worked for a local commercial property management and developer called Sunbelt Management Company as an Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President for the San Diego headquarters. Now, Maribel has been providing top-notch administrative support for our Cymer/ASML San Diego executives for nearly twelve years.
“It’s the people that make this a great place to work. We work hard and we play hard. We have good, strong leaders that inspire us to give our best and that also acknowledge and show appreciation with numerous employee events.”
A close friend and neighbor of Maribel’s initially introduced her to our company, and our Mission Statement and Values made a lasting impression that inspired her to stay and become the loyal, esteemed employee that she is today.
“I think what stands out for me was Cymer’s story and the Mission & Values statements, especially ‘Balance through Humor.’”
When she’s not supporting our Customer Support Organization by managing busy schedules and communicating important information to maintain strong business relationships and achieve high-level objectives, you’ll find Maribel spending time with friends and family. Since she grew up alongside twelve brothers and sisters, quality time with family is a long-standing fundamental in her life.
“Top of my list is spending time with my family and friends. I like to be outdoors taking in the San Diego weather and scenery. I like walking the beach–even more now that we have a new puppy.”
If she’s not soaking up the sun with her husband and puppy, she might be cooking something delicious for her son and daughter, or knitting and catching up on her favorite Netflix series. Once her husband, Steve, finishes teaching his fifth graders at Hage Elementary this school year, they’re looking forward to spending a few weeks together in Europe to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this summer.
