Julio Rios | Senior Business Operations Analyst

Meet Julio Rios, one of our Senior Business Operations Analysts who holds his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Miami and MBA in Supply-Chain Management from the University of San Diego.

Although he was born in San Diego, Julio spent most of his childhood taking (what he describes as) a “country-wide tour.”

“From the small Midwestern town of Bridgeman, Michigan to the dry deserts of Las Vegas, I have experienced my fair share of seasons to realize that Southern California is where I want to be. As a native San Diegan, I have always had an affinity for living near the coast. Deciding to move back home for graduate school was an easy decision.”

Prior to Cymer, Julio worked for The Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas and spent time working in Nightlife & Daylife before transitioning into their Finance group.

“I first heard about Cymer while at USD. After learning about the technology, I was captivated by how deep-rooted Cymer is in setting the pace of innovation. I am a bit of a tech geek, so working for an organization like Cymer is an unbelievable experience.”

As a Senior Business Operation Analyst, Julio’s responsibilities are in DUV System Forecasting.

“I work closely with our Account Management and Business Management teams to understand our direct customer needs. The challenge is taking our direct consumer inputs and introducing market intelligence from an ever-evolving semiconductor landscape. Over the last year, we have also implemented an initiative to modernize our systems forecast modeling. I am heading the effort to move our Excel based models into an MS SQL database structure. This is facilitating the opportunity for more advanced predictive modeling and comprehensive dashboarding through visualization tools such as TIBCO Spotfire.”

“My favorite quality about Cymer is its people. We develop products that are on the cutting-edge of technology, while understanding the importance of giving back to our community. As a San Diego native it gives you a sense of pride.”

Outside of work, Julio enjoys hiking, biking and relaxing at San Diego’s many beaches. He is also an aspiring travel buff. He and his wife have a goal of circling the globe over the next few years.
