The classroom and hands-on laboratory learning experience is a powerful
one where the student learns the physical, operational, and functional aspects
of Cymer's lasers. The following courses are offered by Cymer:
Cymer Laser Theory
This is a self paced
course on CD that reviews basic laser theory and ties in how Cymer's
specialized components generate and maintain quality DUV light specifications.
Level I Training (Operations)
This course is for personnel that perform routine laser maintenance.
The course covers how to perform gas refills, complete weekly status
reports, and initiate diagnostic downloads.
Note
that this course is offered on-line only from San Diego using internet-based
technology. Cymer Korea and Cymer Japan offer
this course onsite at their regional training centers. Please feel free
to contact us using the online registration
form or call (858) 385-5576 within the USA region to get more information
on the online Operations course details.
Level II Training
Level II training provides classroom training in Cymer's Level I and Level II service procedures including most post requisite calibrations and alignments. Level II training students will remove and replace major assemblies and perform alignment and optimization procedures. The use of Cymer Ultraviolet Beam Imaging Telescope (S-CUBIT), a diagnostic instrument designed to allow rapid assessment of chamber alignment and beam characteristics, is also included. Prospective students must have completed Level I training to enroll.
LII Training is for personnel who have a need to become more familiar with laser functionality and Cymer Laser service requirements.
Cymer's LII course is a service familiarization course. Completion does not result in a service certification. Contact a local field office or the Technical Training Dept at 858.385.5576.
Courses are conducted Monday through Friday. Classroom and hands-on instruction are six to eight hours per day. Each course section is presented sequentially due to the interdependence of the course material. Courses taught in the United States and Japan are conducted in their respective native languages.
The Laboratory Environment is equipped with the tools necessary to provide hands-on learning in a controlled environment as well as simulated field conditions. Each lab contains a portable oscilloscope, a computer with diagnostic software, a complete set of special tools, and at least one laser.
Training Guides, reference materials and the eLibrary contain information and procedural instructions to familiarize the student with the course topics.
Evaluation in the form of written tests are given during each training course. Instructors review all test materials with students to ensure retention for effective integration into the workplace.
Guided Extra Study outside of class is given as necessary to achieve the goals of training which familiarizes the student with the materials they will use in their work environment. Instructors review all guided extra study materials in class the following day.
Certificate of Completion is awarded only to those students who have met all Cymer requirements for course completion. Students must attend the entire training in order to receive a certificate of completion. Please do not arrange departures before 7:00 PM on the last day of class.
