The International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) is one of the driving technology references for the semiconductor industry. Its objective is to assess the technological challenges facing the industry over the next fifteen years, indicating possible solutions and removing roadblocks to the continuation of Moore’s Law. The future needs drive present-day strategies for worldwide research and development.

The resulting ITRS Roadmap is a cooperative effort of semiconductor chip manufacturers, suppliers, industry associations, academics and government organizations.

Today, all semiconductor equipment and chip manufacturers follow the ITRS when they implement their product roadmaps.
