Funding Guidelines

Cymer is dedicated to being a responsible corporate citizen and good neighbor by providing monetary donations to and employee volunteerism in the communities in which our employees work and live. Our primary funding focus is the San Diego Community, where Cymer’s corporate headquarters resides.

Areas of Community Involvement and Investment:

Funding Cycle:
Cymer accepts funding requests year-round. The corporate giving committee reviews requests monthly.  Complete proposals received on or before the 15th of the month will be reviewed the following month.

Proposal Elements:
Cymer accepts funding proposals made using the the San Diego Common Grant Application. To download this application, please visit the San Diego Grantmakers Web site at www.sdgrantmakers.org.

Additional Information:
In addition to the information required on the Common Grant Application, please include the following to ensure consideration by our corporate giving committee:

  • A description of the necessary Cymer employee involvement, i.e. volunteers, board service, etc.
  • A list of past donations from Cymer (list amount, project, date)
  • The number of paid staff and volunteers on your team (both full- and part-time)

Once the above items are in order, there is an option to include the following:

  • A maximum of five organizational reviews, videos or articles concerning the proposed funding program

Notification
All proposals are answered in writing.

Re-Applying
Organizations that do not receive funding from Cymer may apply again four months after the initial proposal submission.

Exclusions and Restrictions
Cymer Corporate Giving is restricted from funding:

  • Organizations without Internal Revenue Code non-profit status
  • Organizations to which donations are not tax-deductible
  • Individuals
  • Political contributions
  • Groups that practice or promote discriminatory, exclusionary, or partisan policies
  • Organizations with the primary purpose of furthering religious doctrine
